Where Can I Get Reasonable Prices & Good Service?

When buying carpet you want to know you are not going to be ripped off by the big carpet retailers in order to get good service, but is big necessarily better?

Or can I get more for my money by going with the small family run carpet companies?

You can get sucked in by the big names and the advertising on television, thinking they are your local dealer so you must go to them if you want a reliable service. But you will find on top of your carpet you are actually paying for there adverts. So it can work the other way round in some cases. With locally run carpet companies you will get that one on one personal touch, as your custom is very important for them. You are more than just a customer but the future as depending on how he portrays him self that is how you will see the company and this professionalism or not!

Smaller carpet companies are more that not run by the family and are friendly and approachable. They have more freedom to be able to change orders, dates or offer better guarantees for the service they provide. They are proud of there work so you can always be assured they will do a good job. Most of the time you will find they don't just sell the carpet but they also lay it for you, so no unfamiliar faces at any stage of the job. You will also talk to the same assistant when calling the office who knows you and which job you are from. This makes things so much easier and stress free.

They also have the freedom to allow for more competitive pricing on jobs. Smaller carpet retailers can keep cost down by not paying franchise fees, shop fronts etc. This can be passed onto the customer. So in many cases you will find you pay a big difference for exactly the same carpet just for the name of that company, which is not what you want at the end of the day. There should not be a great difference give or take a few dollars.

The larger carpet retailers are not always happy to bring out samples to you. That's why the smaller retailers are a lot more convenient as they will come to your home, office or on site and show you as many samples as you need to see. They explain every thing in detail as well as go through the plan and the choices you have as to how you would like the carpet to be laid. They also give quotes on the spot which is very unusual. The larger firms like to take there time over getting a quote back to a customer which can be a bit frustrating.

Really all we want as a consumer is to be looked after and not over changed is this to much to ask for?
