Pensioners get discount now!

Being a pensioner can I get a discount off the purchase of my carpet?

Are you thinking of changing your carpet? But it has been 20 something years since you last had to think about carpet, so it feels like you are treading on unfamiliar territory. Worried you may make the wrong decision or over spend?

Many pensioners are in exactly the same position but don't dispare as there are companies that still offer you good customer service that will help you along with your decision, making it the right one for you.

The older generation probably built there homes over 20 years ago which would have been the last time they even thought of carpet and looked into flooring choices. Wool carpet was probably what they chose, as many years ago that was the better carpet (axminister) was very popular with the bright spirally patterns in fantastic colours like orange and brown and it lasted and lasted. In fact most of our Grandparents still have that same carpet in their homes today.

Now a days you have a large selection of carpets to choose from Wool, Wool Blends, Nylon, Polypropylene and Solution Dyed Nylon. They also come in all different Textures, Blends, Patterns and Colours to choose from. So when you think about changing your carpet it may be quite daunting but it shouldn't be, as expert advice is always at hand with so many flooring companies to choose from and of course you have the convenience of the mobile carpet showroom that come to you.

A small selection of companies do offer pensioner's discount on carpet so it is always a good idea to ask before you book an appointment with the estimator to come and see you.

It is worth while thinking about how long you want your carpet to last because if you are planning on moving then you would probably not be looking at something that lasts or has a warranty of 15years, why spend that extra money if you are not going to benefit from it. Also take into consideration the areas you are going to get done as hight traffic areas such as a hallway can look worn out before you want them to.  They need a harder wearing carpet so maybe tile that area instead and you can then choose a carpet which is going to offer you a more comfortable living style in the bedrooms and living areas. This can be discussed with the estimator who can advise you on what would suit your home best. No doubt like many others you want some thing which is low maintenance which most people want now, make sure you mention this to your estimator as the last carpet you want is going to be a shaggy one. Textured is very popular now a days with the show apartments as it is low maintenance and wears well.

The choice is yours at the end of the day so make sure you speak with your carpet estimator and ask him as many questions as you think of on the day as that's what they are there for (do not be afraid to ask questions!) even write a list of questions before the estimator comes to see you so you don't forget. Following my few suggestions will help make your carpet or flooring purchase less stressful and more of an enjoyable experience.
